Douglas DC-3 model

The Douglas Sleeper Transport (DST) evolution of the DC-2 was created in response to an American Airlines requirement for sleeper aircraft for use on transcontinental routes. After a small number of 16-sleeper DSTs were built, the 21-passenger DC-3 model arrived, with 113 being bought by American, and flown by AA until 1955.
