The Railroad Artistry of Howard Fogg - a review

I've long been an admirer of Howard Fogg - fueled no doubt by the fact that he painted several scenes depicting the Pittsburgh & Lake Erie in and immediately around my hometown. I always thought it was neat that this well-known artist would have traveled some of the same roads that I did. But beyond the "Little Giant" Fogg painted just about every imaginable American railroad theme over his long career. He started out in the steam era and worked up to near the end of his life, generating a large and impressive volume of work.

This book does an outstanding job at reproducing over 180 examples of Fogg art, as well as giving a bio of his rather interesting life, and how his art evolved.

A definite must have!
