Boeing E-6A Hermes

The last new-build military version of the venerable Boeing 707, the E-6A was procured to provide a more capable successor to the Lockheed EC-130 in the Navy’s TACAMO (Take Charge and Move Out) submarine communications role. The fleet was later reworked as E-6Bs to carry out the USAF’s Looking Glass mission,  replacing the retiring EC-135Cs.
